Works With Your Tools
Saga plays well with tools you already use.
Standard Files
Saga works with plain markdown and text files. Your vault is just a folder on your computer—no proprietary formats, no lock-in.
This means any tool that works with files can work alongside Saga.
Compatible Tools
Claude Code
Saga supports CLAUDE.md instruction files, so you can use the same context file for both tools. Point Claude Code at your Saga vault and they share the same memory.
Configure instruction file priority in Settings → Vault.
Cursor
Open your Saga vault in Cursor to edit files with AI assistance. Changes sync automatically—Saga sees what Cursor writes and vice versa.
Obsidian
Point Obsidian at your Saga vault (or vice versa). Use Obsidian for graph views and linking, Saga for AI conversations. Same files, different interfaces.
Migrating From Other Apps
The philosophy is simple: drop it in your vault and ask Saga to help organize it.
This works with:
- •An existing notes folder from your computer
- •Obsidian vaults
- •Data exports from ChatGPT, Claude, or other AI tools
- •Any markdown or text files
Just copy the files into your vault and tell Saga: "I just added some files. Can you help me organize them?"
Instruction File Compatibility
Saga looks for instruction files in this order:
- 1.
SAGA.md— Saga-specific - 2.
CLAUDE.md— Works with Claude Code - 3.
AGENTS.md— Generic AI tools
If you already have a CLAUDE.md from Claude Code, Saga will use it automatically.
